Who Attends

The LIMRA Annual Conference is one of the largest gatherings of senior executives representing diverse sectors of the financial services industry. This year’s event is an industry-wide celebration, drawing together LIMRA’s stakeholders to commemorate the industry’s accomplishments over the last 100 years.  The agenda is designed to provide attendees insights into the latest industry trends that will drive future opportunities in the U.S. and worldwide.

From January 2005-2009, Condoleezza Rice served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States, the first African American woman to hold the post. She is also the first woman to serve as National Security Advisor from January 2001-2005. Rice is currently the Denning professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business; the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson senior fellow on public policy at the Hoover Institution; and a professor of Political Science at Stanford University. She is a founding partner of RiceHadleyGates, LLC, an international strategic consulting firm. Rice has authored and co-authored numerous books, including No Higher Honor: A Memoir of My Years in Washington.

Tom Brokaw has spent his entire distinguished journalism career with NBC News beginning in 1966 in the Los Angeles bureau. From Los Angeles, Brokaw went to Washington as the White House correspondent and as the principal back up anchor of NBC Nightly News. Next stop: New York and TODAY followed by his appointment as anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. In addition to his daily news gathering responsibilities, Brokaw reported on more than thirty documentaries. He has won every major award in his craft, including Peabody, Duponts, Emmys and lifetime achievement recognition. Brokaw is a best-selling author whose latest book is A Lucky Life Interrupted (Random House, 2015).

Daniel J. Houston is responsible for overall management of Principal Financial Group. He joined the company in 1984 and held several management positions before assuming his current role in 2015. Houston is a member of several boards, including Greater Des Moines Partnership, Employee Benefits Research Institute (EBRI), American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI), Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) and Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA). He has appeared before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging to discuss the importance of educating the workforce about the financial needs in retirement.

Rob O’Neill is one of the most highly-decorated combat veterans of our time. He was a team leader with the Naval Special Warfare Development Group. He has deployed more than a dozen times, and he held combat leadership roles in more than 400 combat missions in four different theaters of war. A highly-trained Navy SEAL, he led the military’s most elite and was involved in our nation’s most important campaigns. O’Neill brings his unique expertise in training more than 800 special operations and tactical operators to organizations and delivers high-impact, actionable insights on leadership, decision-making, operating in uncertain environments, and how to become the “best of the best.”

Barry Stowe is chairman and chief executive officer for the U.S. holding company of the North American Business Units (NABU) of Prudential plc, which includes Jackson and its affiliated and subsidiary companies. He is responsible for guiding the vision and strategic direction of the NABU and also serves on Prudential plc’s Board of Directors. Prior to his appointment as chairman and CEO, Stowe had served as the chief executive of Prudential Corporation Asia since 2006. Stowe is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Insurance Society. He has previously served as a director of LIMRA and LOMA.

Michael L. Tipsord leads State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Companies. State Farm and its affiliates are the largest providers of auto, home and individual life insurance in the United States. Tipsord was named chief executive officer in September 2015 and was elected to the office of president earlier the same year. He began his State Farm career in 1988 and practiced law prior to joining the company. Tipsord serves on the board of directors for Navigant Consulting, Inc. and is a trustee of the Brookings Institution. He is also a member of the dean’s advisory board for the University of Illinois College of Law.

Christopher Young leads a team of industry specialists who work with Adobe’s financial services clients to help them develop best-in-class digital marketing strategies using Adobe Marketing Cloud solutions. Prior to joining Adobe, Young spent more than eight years at E*TRADE Financial, where his last position was vice president of brokerage marketing. Prior to E*TRADE, he was the vice president of retail advertising at JPMorgan Chase. Young also has extensive agency experience working with a range of clients across traditional, direct, and digital advertising and marketing programs.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be received in writing. Notify customer.service@limra.com. Cancellations received before September 30, 2016 will be refunded, less a $75 processing fee. Cancellations received from September 30, 2016 to October 14, 2016, will be refunded, less a $375 processing and administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after October 14, 2016.

In the event that a scheduled meeting or event is cancelled by LIMRA for any reason, LIMRA shall refund any conference registration fees that have been paid by the registrant. Under no circumstances, however, shall LIMRA be liable to the registrant for any other expenses including, but not limited to, airfare and hotel expenses incurred by the registrant.
