Assistant Vice President, The Jacobson Group

Taylor Dever is assistant vice president for The Jacobson Group’s life team. In this role, Taylor partners with life, annuity and reinsurance organizations to connect them with the temporary staffing and subject matter experts solutions they need to effectively manage workload fluctuations, special projects and other short-term needs across all functional areas. To fully immerse himself within the insurance industry, Taylor earned his Associate, Life Management Institute, and Associate, Secure Retirement Institute, designations. Leveraging this in-depth insurance knowledge and his recruiting background, Taylor is able to quickly identify the very specific and unique skill sets his clients need to further their business objectives. Taylor was recently named to the industry’s prestigious 2021 Class of Emerging Leaders, a select group of talented rising stars who serve as ambassadors for the insurance industry and are dedicated to expanding career opportunities in the space.

Michael Rogers

Futurist in Residence at The New York Times

Michael Rogers is a best-selling author, technology pioneer and futurist, who most recently served as futurist-in-residence for The New York Times. He has worked with companies ranging from FedEx, Boeing and NBC Universal to Microsoft, Pfizer and Siemens, focusing on how companies can think about the future in useful ways. He speaks to audiences worldwide and is a regular guest on radio and television. Rogers began his career as a writer for Rolling Stone magazine. He co-founded Outside magazine and then launched Newsweek’s technology column, winning numerous journalism awards. For ten years he was vice president of The Washington Post Company’s new media division, leading both the newspaper and Newsweek into the new century and earning patents for multimedia technology. He is also a best-selling novelist whose books have been published worldwide, chosen for the Book-of-the-Month club and optioned for film. Rogers studied physics and creative writing at Stanford University, with additional studies in finance and management at the Stanford Business School Executive Program. He lives in New York City and is currently working on book and television projects. His most recent novel is Email from the Future: Notes from 2084.

Meghan joined AHIP in March 2021 following a decade of government service. She worked in the U.S. House of Representatives as a health policy advisor and was a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Labor. She grew up in Montgomery, Alabama and is an alumna of The University of Alabama.

Member of Medicare Committee and Past President (2015-16), American Academy of Actuaries

Tom Wildsmith, a past president (2015-16) of the American Academy of Actuaries, has performed extensive work in health policy in multiple leadership and volunteer roles at the Academy, including serving as the Academy’s vice president of health from 2010 to 2012 and subgroups on actuarial value, premium review, exchanges, risk sharing, and health care costs. He is currently a member of the Academy’s Medicare Committee and Health Practice Council AV/MV Work Group. He has spoken extensively on health policy issues, including to C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, and before the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. During his career spanning more than 30 years, he has worked as a company actuary, a consultant, and a staff actuary for a major health insurance trade association. He is currently managing director, legislative and regulatory policy, at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

The health and safety of our conference attendees remains our top priority as we return to meeting in person. We are making preparations to hold our events in accordance with currently applicable national government and local authority guidance to ensure the highest standards of safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and operational effectiveness for all participants.

This is a shared responsibility, and we ask that you partner with us by following these guidelines and procedures before, during, and after the conference to ensure your safety and the health of our staff, partners, and fellow attendees. Prior to Event

  • PROOF OF FULL VACCINATION AGAINST COVID-19 (AS DEFINED BY THE CDC) OR A NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST WITHIN 48 HOURS OF ARRIVAL.
    All registrants will be required to upload their vaccination information or negative COVID test results onto the CLEAR app link which you will receive when you complete your registration.
  • Attendees must follow all state/local regulations and guidelines regarding social distancing, gathering, sanitation, and use of face coverings.
  • If you are aware that you have been exposed to COVID-19 in the past two weeks or if you are experiencing any symptoms, we ask that you adhere to the CDC protocols applicable to your situation as determined by the CDC calculator.
  • Follow cleaning and safety tips during your trip to maintain a safe travel environment (e.g., disinfecting surfaces, wearing a face covering, etc.).

On-Site at the Event

  • Adhere to social distance protocols.
  • Wash hands frequently throughout the meeting.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
  • Comply with pathway signage.
  • Self-monitor and report any symptoms to meeting organizers immediately.

Post Event

  • Notify event organizer if you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after returning home.

How to Prepare for Air Travel

Your airline is the best source for personal safety protocols at the gate and on the airplane. Be sure to visit your airline website the week you are traveling and sign up for notifications related to your trip.

Hotel Reservations

Make your reservations by July 15 to receive the group rate of $209 single/double (plus applicable sales taxes). Requests after July 15 will be accepted based on space availability. Please note that hotel rates will go up after July 15, or when the meeting room block sells out, whichever comes first. Make your reservations early to be able to take advantage of our discount rates.

Extend your stay: The group guest room rate will be offered three (3) days prior and three (3) days after the meeting dates, subject to availability at the time of your reservation. You may need to call the hotel directly to book the extra nights.

If you receive any unsolicited or suspicious email or phone call about a hotel booking in conjunction with this meeting, our advice is not to click on it, but delete the email immediately.
