This was not the first, nor last, difficult challenge in Abby’s life.

With a career that has expanded from being a lawyer, to an entrepreneur, to a marketing executive and then Founder & CEO, Lacrecia is a strategically disruptive force in the industries that she serves. She is a transformative leader, challenger of conventional ideas and always inspires novel approaches. She’s able to simplify complexity, empower those around her and ultimately create alignment towards success.

After practicing law for more than 12 years as a litigator specializing in employment, education and insurance coverage, Lacrecia became the General Counsel and Chief of Staff at Morehouse College. From that role, Lacrecia took her learnings and experience to Aflac, Inc. It was there that Lacrecia explored the innerworkings of running a Fortune 150 insurance company — first as a lawyer, and then by moving into the business to lead the B2B marketing team. Lacrecia then took on the challenge of serving as the first female president of Atlanta Life Insurance Company. Lacrecia continues to be bold in the insurance industry at the helm of the What-If Collective — imagining that insurance is less about risk and loss and more about growth and a legacy. At What-If, Lacrecia is focused on building digital tools and content that inject cultural relevance into the insurance industry creating greater knowledge and access for multicultural communities.

Patrick Cieslak is the Head of Disability and Long Term Care Claims for MassMutual. Patrick has deep institutional knowledge with Disability Claims, having spent over 20 years in the industry. Patrick is a former president of the New England Claims Association and remains active on its executive board. Patrick is known as a data driven leader that focuses on improving the claims experience for claimants, advisors and claim professionals.

Patrick is also the co-lead of the MassMutual Insurance Operations DE&I Council. The council supports and enables leaders and individual contributors on their cultural awareness journey. They provide opportunities for employees to engage in DE&I conversations, in ways that feels safest for them.

Neil Raden is a mathematician founder of a management consulting firm, consultant to large and complex projects internationally, an industry analyst, and widely published author and speaker. His early background was in Property and Casualty actuarial R&D, and he has been a presenter at insurance events for many years. He founded Hired Brains Research to provide thought leadership, context and advisory consulting and implementation services in Data Architecture, Analytics, AI, Data Science and organizational change. He is an author of more than two hundred articles on the subjects of AI and Ethics on Diginomica, and the author of “Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence for Actuaries” for the SOA. With James Taylor, he is the co-author of the first book on Decision Management, “Smart (Enough) Systems.” He welcomes your comments at nraden@hiredbrains.com.

Cancellation Policy:

Digital Library Purchase: There are no refunds for digital library of recorded sessions.

In Person Event: All cancellations for the in person event must be received in writing. Cancellations received before July 19, 2023, will be refunded, less a $75 processing fee. Cancellations received from July 19, 2023 to July 26, 2023 will be refunded, less a $375 processing and administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after July 26, 2023.

In the event that a scheduled meeting or event is cancelled by LIMRA or LOMA for any reason, we shall refund any conference registration fees that have been paid by the registrant. Under no circumstances, however, shall LIMRA or LOMA be liable to the registrant for any other expenses including, but not limited to, airfare and hotel expenses incurred by the registrant.

On-Site at the Event

  • Adhere to social distance protocols.
  • Wash hands frequently throughout the meeting.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing.
  • Comply with any protocol signage displayed.
  • Self-monitor and report any symptoms to meeting organizers immediately.
  • If you are having symptoms and need to seek medical attention, there will be a list of service options available.
  • If you test POSITIVE for COVID:
    • Notify the meeting organizer and if you choose to remain at the conference, self-quarantine in your room for at least three days, or until you receive a NEGATIVE test result.
    • Once you test NEGATIVE, you may return to the conference. Please wear a mask for the duration of the conference.
    • Report your status to the convening team so the proper contact tracing interview can be conducted.

Post Event

  • Notify event organizer if you test positive for COVID-19 up to 14 days after returning home.

Please note that hotel rates will go up after July 12, 2023 or when the meeting room block sells out, whichever comes first. Make your reservations early to be able to take advantage of our discount rates.
