Highlights

The theme — Reimagine Tomorrow — encapsulates the vision of a modern, dynamic, and consumer-centric industry by emphasizing innovation, adaptability, and forward-thinking strategies. At the 2025 Life Insurance & Annuities Conference, industry leaders will unite to explore strategies that break away from traditional models, embrace change, and continuously seek ways to enhance the consumer experience, driving growth and success in a rapidly changing world.

What essential factors should we focus on when envisioning the future of our industry?

Talent: To attract top talent, we need to address the evolving aspirations of younger workers and our industry’s traditional image. Improving our employment branding, offering competitive compensation, and fostering a dynamic, innovative work environment are key. Highlighting our mission and the positive impact we make can also appeal to purpose-driven younger workers.

Simplicity: To become more approachable and create positive outcomes for customers, we need to simplify at every touchpoint. This includes:

  • Simplifying complex products to enhance understanding, sales, and compliance
  • Using clear language in policy documents and marketing materials
  • Streamlining product features and offering modular options
  • Leveraging technology to simplify the buying process and improve the customer journey
  • Focusing on education and transparency to boost customer satisfaction and retention

Innovation: The industry is transforming through innovation, focusing on areas with the most impact. Key trends include:

  • Applied AI: Enhancing underwriting, claims processing, and customer service
  • Digital Platforms: Enabling policy management, instant quotes, and claims processing
  • Personalized Products: Using big data and analytics for tailored products
  • Next Level Automation: Automating repetitive tasks with RPA to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Trust Architecture: Improving cybersecurity and trust-building measures to boost customer confidence

These factors will be explored at the 2025 Life Insurance & Annuity Conference, where Reimagine Tomorrow is a call to action. Jointly hosted by LIMRA and LOMA, the Society of Actuaries, and ACLI, this premier event offers life insurance and annuity professionals rich cross-functional learning and networking opportunities in development, operations, marketing, distribution, regulation, technology, and administration.
