WINDSOR, Conn., May 7, 2014 — LIMRA and LOMA are pleased to announce Zuckerberg Media CEO Randi Zuckerberg as keynote speaker of the 2014 Social Media Conference for Financial Services, held August 20-22, 2014 in Boston, Mass.

A Harvard graduate who cut her teeth at globally recognized communications leaders like Ogilvy & Mather and Forbes, Inc., Zuckerberg served as Facebook's first marketing executive and spokesperson, and later authored the New York Times bestseller, "Dot Complicated," in which she addresses the multifaceted complications of our socially transparent world and shares her unique perspective on untangling our wired lives.

"Who better to speak at our social media conference than someone who was a key figure in Facebook's rise as a global social media powerhouse?" said Stephen Selby, assistant vice president, director LIMRA Regulatory Services.  "Randi Zuckerberg has continued to play a pivotal role in the social media space and help financial services companies understand how to succeed in social business."

LIMRA and LOMA established the annual Social Media Conference for Financial Services event to help financial services professionals grow their businesses and expand market share using the latest social media innovations. Now in its fifth year, the conference attracts more than 200 financial services industry professionals seeking the latest research, best practices and innovative new approaches to building relationships, enhancing brand awareness, increasing sales and recruiting new producers through social media. Sessions at the conference are designed to help everyone from experienced early adopters to those who are just starting social media initiatives for their organizations.

This year's conference also marks the second annual presentation of The Silver Bowl Award for Social Media Excellence, which recognizes the best and brightest in social media strategy, creativity, innovation and results in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube for LIMRA and LOMA members and the broader financial services industry in the United States and Canada.

Nominations will be judged by executives from the social media and financial services industries.  All winners will be announced on Thursday, August 21 during the 2014 Social Media Conference for Financial Services.

Members of the news media are welcome to attend free of charge. Please contact LIMRA Public Relations for details.
