Former NASA Astronaut and ISS Commander to Speak at LIMRA LOMA Strategic Issues Conference

WINDSOR, Conn., August 20, 2018 – Dr. Leroy Chiao, former NASA astronaut and ISS commander, will be the closing keynote speaker for the LIMRA LOMA Strategic Issues Conference. The event is scheduled to take place September 16-18, 2018 in Indonesia.

Chiao will give a presentation that touches on his 229 days spent in space and offers attendees a unique perspective into space exploration. He will show how lessons he learned in space can apply to businesses worldwide. His technical expertise will also give listeners insights into future technology trends and how businesses must use them to stay on top.

The Economist columnist Dominic Ziegler will be the opening keynote speaker for the conference. Ziegler’s presentation, Organized Chaos, will look at the future of Asia and the impact of the trade war on the region. He will address how geopolitical developments will impact businesses and the insurance industry as a whole.

Alison Salka, senior vice president and director of LIMRA research, will discuss LIMRA's new Center of Excellence for Predictive Modeling and Data Analytics. She will show how this new research can benefit an organization's strategic decision making.

Kartik Sakthivel, LIMRA and LOMA’s chief information officer, will examine how companies can leverage their data to improve operations and enhance their marketing efforts.
