LIMRA: Former Defense Secretary to Deliver Opening Keynote at 2021 LIMRA Annual Conference

WINDSOR, Conn. Aug. 10, 2021 – LIMRA today announced that former Secretary of Defense and retired Marine Corps General James Mattis will open the 2021 LIMRA Annual Conference. The event will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida on Oct. 24 – 26, 2021. The virtual event will be held on Oct. 26 – 28, 2021.
Mattis, who served more than 40 years in the Marine Corps, and headed the U.S. Joint Forces Command and later Central Command, will share his insights and thought-provoking perspective on empowering individuals through leading by example.
ABC newscaster and longtime co-anchor of ABC News’ Good Morning America (GMA) Robin Roberts will be the closing keynote speaker at this year’s event. An Emmy-winning broadcaster, Roberts has served as cohost for GMA for more than 15 years. At LIMRA’s 2021 Annual Conference, Roberts will share her wisdom and insight on overcoming adversity to live with purpose and conviction.
Additional speakers this year include:
- Author of The New York Times best seller: On the Edge: The Art of High-Impact Leadership, Alison Levine will discuss what it takes to lead teams through challenging situations. Drawing from her expertise from climbing both the world’s highest mountains and the corporate ladder, she will demonstrate how the leadership principles of extreme adventure also apply to today’s competitive business environment.
- Best-selling co-author of Zconomy, and president of The Center for Generational Kinetics, Jason Dorsey will present his research and insights on how to effectively lead, communicate and inspire each generation in a time of uncertainty, remote work and rapid change — in areas from sales and marketing to recruiting and innovation.
