WINDSOR, Conn., June 24, 2024 — On June 21, LIMRA and LOMA Chief Information Officer Kartik Sakthivel was honored with a CIO Corporate ORBIE Award. This executive recognition program recognizes CIOs in the New England region who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership.

To receive the award, finalists needed to meet the following criteria:

• Holding the title of CIO or equivalent senior IT executive position;
• Being a member of senior management; and
• Having primary responsibility for the IT operations of an organization or subsidiary based in New England.

“In today’s business environment, technology is a critical component to the security and success of an organization,” said David Levenson, president and CEO, LIMRA and LOMA. “Kartik is a gifted leader whose contributions have elevated our organization’s ability to serve and deliver valuable insights and solutions to our members. This well-deserved recognition confirms the meaningful impact he has on our organization and our industry.”

Sakthivel heads up a team of nearly 50 IT professionals and is responsible for developing the IT architecture and strategic direction for LIMRA and LOMA. In this capacity, he leads all IT project development and execution and oversees the organization’s data management and data security. With more than two decades as an industry thought leader, Sakthivel champions the use of technology to improve the revenue, profitability and efficiency at his organization and its member organizations.

An independent peer review process, led by former ORBIE award recipients, selected the winners. Awards were based on leadership and management effectiveness, business value created by technology innovation, the size and scope of responsibilities, and engagement in industry and community endeavors.
