Since our founding in 1924, LOMA has been known for providing knowledge, networking and professional development opportunities for members in the life insurance and financial services industry. Following that first meeting in Indiana, where 148 delegates representing 86 companies agreed to exchange ideas regarding home office organization and clerical administration, LOMA has evolved into an organization that provides diverse programs, resources and services, while fostering growth, innovation and excellence for our members. Some of those opportunities include:

Professional Development Resources for Member Companies.
One of the primary pillars of LOMA's value proposition is our commitment to being an industry-specific professional development partner to members in life insurance, annuities and workplace benefits. LOMA offers a plethora of industry-specific courses and programs designed to enhance employees’ knowledge and expertise throughout their career journey. Whether it's building employees’ industry-specific knowledge during onboarding through programs like Complete Insurance Fundamentals, providing just-in-time learning opportunities through Industry Advantage, or developing rising leaders through programs like Insurance Immersion and Strategic Leadership Experience, LOMA equips our members with the tools they need to develop talent who understand our industry and are prepared to help their organizations grow.

Individual Career Development and Recognition Opportunities.
LOMA’s globally recognized designation programs, including the FLMI program and our Associate-level designations, help individuals build their industry knowledge and prepare for growing opportunities in our industry. By achieving LOMA designations, individuals showcase their commitment to ongoing learning, professional growth and career development. In fact, since our founding 100 years ago, more than 110,000 individuals worldwide have earned the prestigious FLMI designation, a prestigious credential that acknowledges they have achieved a broad business education and a comprehensive understanding of the insurance and financial services industry.

Networking and Collaboration.
In today's interconnected world, networking plays a pivotal role in professional success. LOMA facilitates meaningful networking and collaboration opportunities for our members through LIMRA and LOMA conferences and committees. These platforms not only enable members to forge valuable connections with industry peers but also foster knowledge sharing, idea exchange and best practice dissemination.

Shaping the Talent Landscape.
As our industry has evolved, finding the right talent has become critically important. LOMA’s home office assessment programs help member companies effectively develop strong workforces. Our assessment solutions help identify, recruit and retain the best sales, service, management, claims, underwriting, IT, operations and administrative personnel.

By leveraging the many benefits offered by LOMA, our more than 700 members can enhance their capabilities, expand their networks, recruit and retain the right talent, and achieve greater success in their professional endeavors.

Reaching 100 years in business and in service to our industry is a tremendous accomplishment. It is a moment to pause and acknowledge the hard work of our predecessors, the dedication of our current team and the promise of a bright future for generations to come.
